By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

Prepare for the working day by carrying out PPE checks, vehicle inspections, equipment preparation, and dynamic risk assessments.

Demonstrate safe travel and site arrival procedures, including traffic planning, StaySafe use, and compliance with site access requirements.

Apply effective customer service skills, including communication, managing expectations, and respecting GDPR/data privacy.

Identify and mitigate site hazards, including utility avoidance, overhead/underground works, confined spaces, manual handling, and weather-related risks.

Carry out external works in line with pole classifications, cable routing best practice, and H&S standards.

Perform internal works neatly and safely, ensuring proper ONT placement, cable management, and minimal customer disruption.

Use and maintain specialist equipment, including OTDRs, cleaning tools, and fibre test gear, following calibration and stock control processes.

This short refresher course is designed for operatives who have previously completed TETRA Ladder Safety System training and require an update on best practices and current safety standards. The course provides a concise overview of the correct setup, use, and inspection of the TETRA Ladder Safety System, including the identification and mitigation of common hazards encountered during work at height.
Through a combination of classroom instruction and practical demonstration, participants will revisit key safety protocols, risk assessment procedures, and recent updates to industry guidance. The refresher aims to reinforce safe working behaviours, promote compliance, and ensure ongoing competence when using TETRA ladder equipment.
